Welcome to the Gender and Global Issues Program (GGI)
University of California at Davis

Structure:

Gender and Global Issues International Internships allow students from UC Davis to get hands on experience with grassroots non-profit organizations worldwide. It is our goal that the internship will be of mutual benefit to both the student and to our partner organization. Interns are expected to participate in daily activities of the organization as well as develop a project which may be independent or linked to already existing programs of the organization. Because each student has different skills, interests, talents and goals, each project will be different. Ideally, the project will also complement the needs of the partner organization. To achieve this end, the intern will communicate with the partner organization prior to departure to work out the details of the project and to refine the goals.

How to apply for a Gender and Global Issues Internship:

1. Preliminary Application:

a. a transcript
            b. 2 letters of recommendation*

The letters should be sent directly by your recommendor to our regular mailing address or via e-mail to ggip@ucdavis.edu. There are some cases where we will accept letters of recommendation written previously for other programs, but the prospective student should inquire beforehand and get approval for this from GGI staff.
